Gordon Schoenfeld, M.D.
Gordon O. Schoenfeld, MD is board-certified in radiation oncology. He is both a highly regarded physician and a talented musician and music scholar who joined UCBC in 2007 after four years at the Shands Cancer Center Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida. He previously spent a year at the University of Texas Houston Medical School in preliminary medicine.
Dr. Schoenfeld graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine and holds two undergraduate degrees in chemistry and organ (music) performance from Oberlin College in Ohio where he received the Deans Conservatory Scholarship in music and the Merck Award and the Jewett Award in Chemistry. He has presented research on IMRT for head and neck cancers, radiotherapy in managing soft tissue sarcoma, and patterns of recurrence and treatment for head and neck cancer at Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) annual meetings and Annual Radiation Oncology Outcomes tracking seminars.
His studies have been published in prestigious journals including the American Journal of Clinical Oncology and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics. Dr. Schoenfeld is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
