Addie Hill, M.D.
Addie A. Hill, MD, is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. Dr. Hill joins the UCBC team in 2022 after serving as a staff physician and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research at the City of Hope National Medical Center since 2020. Raised in New Jersey, she attended the University of Chicago where she received her B.A. in Biology, with specializations in Endocrinology & Immunology in 2010. Dr. Hill received the Katen Scholars Fellowship in 2009 and was on the Dean’s List each year. After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Hill attended medical school at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth where she received the Arnold P. Gold Student Summer Research Fellowship and the American Cancer Society Betty Lea Stone Research Fellowship in 2011.
Dr. Hill continued her training at Dartmouth completing her internal medicine residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 2017. She was awarded the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Medical Teaching Award in 2015.
Following her residency, Dr. Hill completed a three-year fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Harbor-UCLA in Torrance, CA. As part of the fellowship research track, she spent much of her time at the City of Hope National Medical Center in the Department of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research in Duarte, CA. She was involved in research studying targeted therapies in non-small-cell lung cancer, how cancer therapeutics may contribute to accelerated aging, how to improve oncologic care for older adults, and how classifying common sources of distress for breast cancer patients might improve patient experiences. Her work has been presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, and featured in the Journal of Clinical Medicine and the Journal of Geriatric Oncology. After fellowship, Dr. Hill joined the Breast Cancer Disease Team at City of Hope National Medical Center, gaining further expertise in the management of breast cancer with a focus on central nervous system metastatic disease.
While Dr. Hill studied at the University of Chicago, she met her now husband, who is on the microbiology faculty at the University of Georgia. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Hill enjoys hiking, tennis, traveling, west coast swing dancing, and yoga.
